Barbara A. Schultz, 89, went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2024.
Born on September 27, 1934 in Akron, she was a 1952 graduate of Buchtel High School. She was a well-known hairdresser in the Fairlawn area for over 50 years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Schultz; parents, Albert and Margaret Ries; and brother, Richard Ries. She is survived by her children, Sandra Rickel (Don), Gregory Schultz (Joy) of Mogadore; grandchildren, Keith Rickel (Rebecca) of Chardon, Timothy Rickel (Marisa) of Suffield, Krystal Schultz (Brent Johnson) of Akron, Ellsbeth and Amira Moore of Ravenna; great grandchildren, Kaleb and Aiden Rickel of Chardon, Carter and Cora Rickel of Suffield; nephews, Randy Ries (Petra) of Germany and Danny Ries of Webster, WI.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, August 21st from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 22nd at 12 p.m. at Mogadore United Methodist Church, where Barbara sang in the choir for many years, 3828 Mogadore Rd. Mogadore, OH 44260. An hour of visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.
