Barbara May (Stromenger) Scotti passed away peacefully July 21, 2022 after a brief illness. Barbara was predeceased by her husband William Gordon Scotti on January 19th 2016. Barbara was born March 5th, 1932 in New York City and was the daughter of the late John Erdman Stromenger and Isabelle (Ferry) Stromenger of Summit NJ. Barbara attended Endicott Junior College in Beverly where she meet her husband Bill and lived most of her married life. She was the proud mother of two sons, William Gordon Scotti Jr of Hamilton, MA and John Erdman Scotti of Wimauma, FL, two grandchildren, William Gordon Scotti 3rd and his wife Brittany (Ray) Scotti of Sagamore Beach, MA, and Pamela May Scotti of Hamilton MA. Barbara also leaves behind three great grandchildren, William Gordon Scotti the 4th, Jack Geoffrey Scotti and Mark Patrick Scotti. For the past several years Barbara lived with her son John and his husband Thomas W Clair in Wimauma Florida.
Barbara and her devoted husband and business partner, operated Scotti Furniture and later, Scotti Piano & Organ which had multiple locations throughout New England. When Barbara and Bill decided to retire, they turned over the family business to their two sons and moved to Delray Beach in Florida. Barbara and Bill were avid hiking enthusiasts, their summers were spent at Loon Mountain in Lincoln NH, where they hiked the many trails of the National White Mountain Forest, and they both enjoyed the Fall Season in Europe, hiking the trails of Austria, Switzerland, Bavaria and The Passa de Resia in Italy. Barbara's Favorite yearly retreat was Pistoia Italy just north of Florence, where Barbara and Bill meet lifelong friends. She enjoyed a full happy married life of 64 years.
Funeral arrangements will be private for family and close friends on Wednesday 11am at the Campbell Funeral Home 525 Cabot Street Beverly.
