Nancy Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Feb. 6, 2026.
Nancy A. (Hobbs) Hall,98, a longtime resident of Manchester-by-the-Sea, York, Maine and Beverly, passed away on Monday, February 2nd. She will be missed by her loving family.

She was born on January 21st, 1928, in Beverly, to the late George and Josephine (Scott) Hobbs. She attended Story High School in Manchester, Massachusetts, graduating with the Class of 1946. She graduated from Fay Secretarial School, Boston, MA. in 1947.

For many decades, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Manchester Electric Company.

Nancy was very proud that she and her sisters grew up in the Manchester house built by her father in 1903; and that family members still reside there. She enjoyed quilting, needlepointing, and reading. But her greatest joy was her close bond with family. Whether it was gathering at Singing Beach, skiing in Bridgeton, ME. or Sunday dinners, the young family of Nancy and Ralph, and those of her sisters Cynthia and Ginny, were always together. With this family support and her deep religious faith, Nancy navigated life's challenges.

Nancy was a loving wife and mother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. In 2023, she was delighted by the arrival of her two great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, she maintained many lasting friendships.

All who encountered Nancy Hall were impressed with her grace, dignity and always pleasant nature. She was truly the epitome of a lady.

Nancy is survived by her son David S. Hall and his wife Natalie of Beverly; sister Cynthia Mitchell of New Hampshire; brother-in-law Laurie McCoy of Manchester-by-the-Sea; grandson Rory Hall and his wife Holen Kowal of South Windsor, CT.; granddaughter Margaret LeBel and her husband Andrew of Beverly; and great-grandchildren Rowan F. Hall and Gwen M. LeBel; also, dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Ralph H. Hall; her beloved son, Jeffrey N. Hall; and her sister Virginia McCoy.

In accordance with Nancy's wishes, her funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com .
