Barbara K. Selvig

Barbara K. Selvig of Anaheim, CA, passed away peacefully March 14, 2024 at the age of 91.
Barbara was born in Sewickley Township, PA. March 27, 1932 to parents Stewart & Margaret Kilmer. Barbara was preceded in death by her Mother and Father & loving husband William Selvig.
Barbara "Bobbie" had a strong Christian faith and raised her family to love, honor & accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Barbara was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics in 1954. Barbara "Bobbie" Kilmer met William Selvig at Penn State University and they married shortly after graduation.
After graduation from Penn State University Barbara joined the United States Army as an army wife of William Selvig. William served as an officer in a Combat Engineering Battalion & the two had many adventures at numerous U.S. Army Posts across the United States.
Being the wife of a U.S. Army officer, Barbara was well accustomed to transfers and short term stays at Army posts. This served her well since her husband spent his career in the Oil & Gas Industry where they were transferred frequently to many different states across the country.
William took a position with an oil field supply company and the couple raised their three boys in Southern California. Barbara had a full schedule running a household & raising three boys, yet found time to serve as the President of the Help for Brain Injured Children Organization, held leadership positions at her son's Parent Teacher Association & was active in the Brea-Olinda High School Boosters Club.
Bill and Barbara were very active in the church, and held leadership positions at Grace Presbyterian Church Yorba Linda, CA &Walnut Village Community Church Anaheim, CA. Bill & Barbara established long standing relationships in their church homes, especially with Pastor Ron Gleason, Grace Presbyterian Church &Chaplain Les Bishop Walnut Village Community Church.
Barbara is survived by sons William E. Steven S. and Scott W. Selvig, & their wives Valerie, Lisa & Karen Key Selvig. Five grandchildren & husbands Kelley Marie& Steve (Crummitt), Kolbey Leigh & Dan (Noteboom), Leah & Michael (Robinson), Kyle Selvig & Sean Selvig. Six great grandchildren Kate, Sara and Kenzie Crummitt, Delaney, Karly and William Noteboom.
A grave side interment and celebration of life will be held May 28, 2024 at 10:30 am at Memory Garden Cemetery Brea, CA
