Barbara A. Sheets

Barbara A. Sheets of Iola, WI formerly of Batavia, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend. Barb was born in Elgin, IL to Gert and Wally Hein on March 9, 1938. Barb married her life-long partner Robert Sheets on August 12, 1961, and raised 3 daughters in Batavia, IL.

She enjoyed being on the PTO at her daughter's school and was a room mother at their schools for many years. She loved having kids and friends over to her house as a stay-at-home Mom. She enjoyed being a lunch lady at the Batavia Middle School for many years. She had many hobbies like writing her cards and letters to friends and family, gardening, cooking, baking and taking care of her family and friends. She loved visiting with friends and family, traveling with her husband and their yearly trips to Canada on their fishing trips, taking vacation trips with her family and spending time in her yard and at her lake property.

Barb is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Sheets, daughters: Sherrie (Shawn) Nollenberg, Shelli (Joe) Petrosa, and Shana (Dan) Mortenson, all of Ogdensburg; grandchildren: David (Taylor) Mortenson of Iola, Dale Mortenson of Ogdensburg, Anthony Petrosa of Waupaca, Aleah Petrosa of Iola; two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Avery. Also, sister-in-law, Judy Hein of Waupaca; brother-in-law, Paul Sheets of Ogdensburg, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, brother Bary Hein, Aunts, Uncles and Nephews.

We would like to thank the staff at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI, The Willows facility of Iola, WI and St. Croix Hospice for the love, care and support she received the past few months. She will be missed so much by so many people.

A visitation celebrating Barb's life will be held at Voie Funeral Home in Iola, WI on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 3-6 pm.
