Barbara Ann Shrader

Barbara Ann Shrader passed away on July 14, 2024, in Bridgewater, Virginia. Barbara was born on June 3, 1937, in North Tazewell, Virginia to Bill and Maggie Ratcliff. She married her high school sweetheart, Elwood Allen Shrader, who survives. They shared nearly sixty-nine years together.
Barbara and Elwood lived in Salem, VA, Ruckersville, VA and Weyers Cave, VA prior to moving to Bridgewater Retirement Village in 2010, where they resided for fourteen years.
Along with Elwood, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, brother and sister-in-law, one grandson and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews, as well as step-granddaughters and step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at Lantz Chapel in the Bridgewater Retirement Community at 2 PM, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, with Pastor Russ Barb officiating, followed by greetings with family members.
A private burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor and friend Tim Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. The family respectfully requests no flowers be sent.
