Barbara May Shrier, 89 of Sanford, died Monday afternoon, July 28, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center. She was born on September 14, 1935, in West Branch, daughter of the late Raymond Joseph and Ida Lillian (Westphal) Miller. Barbara was a graduate of Midland High School and on May 23, 1953, she married Edwin K. Shrier in Midland. Upon graduation, Barbara was a stay-at-home mom before working at Valley Lanes, Mr. Swiss, and also cleaned houses in the area for many years. She loved horses, enjoyed riding horseback, and spending time with her beloved dogs.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lillian (Gary) Western of Rhodes and Darlene (Darrell) Letts of Beaverton; her grandsons, Shane (Laura) Wright and Bradley (Ashley) Letts; great grandchildren, Cole, Owen, Kyle and Emma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin on December 20, 2021, her grandson Curtis Wright on October 19, 2024, a sister Joan Wilkinson, and her brother Roy Miller.

Funeral services for Barbara will take place 12 noon on Friday, August 1, 2025, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Pastor Jody Ellis of Open-Door Baptist Church will officiate with inurnment to take place later in New Hope Cemetery. Barbara's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
