Barbara Anne Sitter, 87, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, IL.
Barbara was born on December 14, 1938, in Dixon, the daughter of Eugene and Louise (Miller) Fane. She married Jack Carl Sitter on February 26, 1956. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2020. Earlier in life, Barbara loved to spend much of her time volunteering at Lowell Park Nature Center, even helping to establish their first butterfly garden. She also loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs. Barbara will be remembered for her love and care of nature, her flower gardens, and birds.
Barbara is survived by her five children, Laura Willey, Steven (Catherine) Sitter, Thomas Sitter, Kevin Sitter, Michael (Beth) Sitter; sister, Elizabeth Kasper; sister-in-law, Deb Fane; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Ron Willey; brother, Thomas Fane; and brother-in-law, Henry Kasper.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Private Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. A Celebration of Barbara's Life will take place at a later date.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Barbara's son, Kevin Sitter, for being her excellent and dedicated caregiver.
