Barbara Joann Bartlett, of Bartlesville, OK passed away on Monday, December 15th, 2025, after

a brief stay at the Journey Home. She was 85 years of age.

Barbara was born in Carmel, CA on May 5th, 1940 to Horace T. Bartlett and Nadene C. (Close)

Bartlett. Her family moved to Kansas City, KS due to her father's health, and where her brother,

Larry Bartlett was born. She graduated from Wyandotte High School and then Emporia State

University with a bachelor's degree in education. Following graduation, she taught English in

Eldorado, KS.

In June of 1963, she married Dennis E. Snyder and continued her teaching career in Wichita, KS.

In May 1966, she gave birth to daughter, Denise Snyder and then in 1968 the family moved to

Zanesville, OH. While in Zanesville, they adopted daughter Kristine Odden from Seoul, Korea in

1973 and then a year later, they adopted son, Paul Snyder from Vietnam.

In 1974, the family moved to Greeley, CO, where they lived for 11 years. Lots of wonderful

memories were made while in Colorado with several close friends, even to this day.

July of 1985 the family moved again to Oklahoma City, OK. While in Oklahoma City, Barbara

returned to school at the University of Central Oklahoma to pursue a bachelor's degree in

accounting. Following graduation, she worked for Canterbury Senior Center, Bethany Hospital

and Integris Health Baptist Medical Center.

Upon retirement in 2009, Dennis and Barbara moved to Bartlesville, OK to live out their

remaining years. In 2013 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering of

family and friends.

Throughout Barbara's life, she was known to say, "Let's plan something fun...!" That fun

included lots of traveling to various countries, such as Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic,

Canada, Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. They also traveled

extensively in the States, but her favorite was always "going back home to Colorado."

She enjoyed taking her granddaughters shopping, followed by a stop for ice cream to finish out

the day. She was involved in various organizations, including president of the PTA while in

Greeley, CO, the Women's Network and book club in Bartlesville, OK. Barbara loved the Rocky

Mountains, reading mysteries, traveling, puzzles, animals, and of course, Taco Bell, especially

with her dear friend, Kaye. But most of all, Barbara loved her family, and she will be dearly

missed.

Barbara is proceeded in death by her husband, Dennis, parents, Horace and Nadene Bartlett, and

her brother Larry Bartlett.

She is survived by her three children – Denise Snyder (Bartlesville, OK), Kristine Odden

(Bartlesville, OK), Paul Snyder (Moore, OK), three granddaughters – Mikayla & husband,

Brodie Thomas (Bartlesville), Meriah Richardson (Springdale, AR), and Morgan & husband,

Braden Mackie (Cheyenne, WY). Barbara also had two great-grandchildren, Aria Thomas (age

5) and Shepard Thomas (age 2).
