Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home - WaterlooBarbara Ann Spring (nee Schiller), age 83, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026.
Barbara was born on November 5, 1942, in Columbus, Wisconsin, to Clarence and Viola (Anhauser) Schiller. From the beginning of her life, she carried a quiet strength, a deep sense of love, and a devotion to family that would define everything she did.
She was the beloved wife of Daniel Paul Spring, and a devoted mother to Ann Heiman, William Heiman, and Roseann (Jesse) Gillett. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ryan Heiman, Casondra Baerwolf, and Cameron Baerwolf, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Barbara dedicated her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. She began her career as a teacher in Coloma, Wisconsin, where she touched young lives and shaped futures. She later worked at Van Holton's for over 40 years, a place where her strong work ethic, loyalty, and reliability became part of who she was known to be. After retiring her servant heart continued through her role as a crosswalk monitor in Marshall, where she spent many years protecting and caring for children in the community.
Barbara was the heart of her family - a steady, comforting presence who gave endlessly of herself. Her love was not loud or showy, but constant, faithful, and unconditional. She showed her care through her actions, her sacrifices, and her unwavering support for the people she loved. To know her was to feel safe, cared for, and accepted.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her resilience, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on through her children, her grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, guidance, and spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Waterloo United Methodist Church with Pastor Marty Stanton presiding. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church.
