Barbara Ann Reddick Stevenson entered the presence of her Savior in her eternal home on December 14, 2023. Barbara was born in Kentucky on December 16, 1931, to Martin Floyd and Frances Cathryn Reddick. Her family moved to Detroit, Michigan, when she was five years old. She attended Temple Baptist Church, and it was there that she received Jesus Christ as her Savior. It was also there that she met her husband, Glenn, at a church youth meeting. They were married on August 25, 1950.
Barbara received a B.A. in English and Elementary Education and an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from Wayne State University. She was a teacher and high-school counselor, taught women's Bible classes, and was a frequent speaker at women's conferences. She served as high-school Bible teacher and counselor at Northside Christian Academy for a period of time and also assisted her husband, Glenn, with the Sunday School class of young couples, which he taught at Northside Baptist Church for almost twenty years.
Barbara was the executive director of Charlotte Pregnancy Care Center from 1985-1997 and director of the statewide Carolina Pregnancy Care Fellowship from 1998-2009.
Although she enjoyed the various roles in which God placed her, she considered her most important roles those of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she greatly treasured her family.
Barbara is survived by three children, Laura; Dianne and husband, David Buzzell; Glenn Jr and wife, Phyllis; five grandchildren, Drew (Carmen) Buzzell; Denae (Derek) Appleton; Glenn (Katie) Stevenson III; Nathan (Rebekah) Stevenson; Aaron (Candace) Stevenson; four great-grandchildren, Audrey Stevenson, Julianna Joy Stevenson, Elijah Stevenson and Dean Appleton, nephew Paul (Sherri) Reddick, nieces Elizabeth (Kevin) Fitzgerald, Heidi Purcell and Natasha (Chris) Durand. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn, a brother, Douglas Reddick, sisters-in-law Rena Reddick and Bonita Legel, and an infant brother, Floyd Reddick.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Robertson Funeral and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held on January 5th at 2:00 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center of Northside Baptist Church, 333 Jeremiah Blvd., Charlotte, NC with burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Resurrection and reunion will follow at an undetermined date!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Devonshire Baptist Church, 6744 View Way Drive, Charlotte, NC, 28215.

I got to know Barb through her leadership of Carolina Pregnancy Care Fellowship. What a godly, encouraging mentor she was to so many of us in pregnancy care ministry. I know that the last few years have been challenging for Barb and her family. How wonderful to know that she is now in the presence of the Savior she loved and served so well.
