Cory Crowe Smith, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at the age of 61 on September 21, 2025, after a year-long battle with prostate cancer.

He was born on July 27, 1964, in Columbia, SC, the youngest son of Tommy and Nita Smith. He attended Northside Christian Academy where he made many lifelong friends. He married his beloved wife Jennifer of 37 years on April 9, 1988.

Cory was a successful plumbing contractor with many loyal customers and business associates. He had a large network of friends and was deeply loved by many. He was truly the life of any gathering. He enjoyed participating in BBQ competitions with his son, attending Appalachian State football games, smoking cigars, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A lifelong man of faith, Cory served his church for many years as a Sunday School teacher and Elder.

Cory was preceded in death by his parents Tommy and Nita Smith. He is survived by wife Jennifer, children Zachary (Nicole), Hailey Johnson (Bryan) and Sarah (EJ), grandchildren Hannah, Thomas and Clara Johnson, brother Kyle (Kim), niece Taylor Hood (Chris), nephew Blaine (Bri) and great-nephew Orion.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27 at Third Presbyterian Church at 4019 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Memorials may be made to the church.
