Barbara Diane May Stone, 70, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on June 13, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.
She was born on March 15, 1954, in Chattanooga to Betty Hutcheson May and the late Billy R. May.
Throughout life, Ms. Barbara was an outdoor enthusiast, loving to have spent time in the Smoky Mountains. She enjoyed fishing and loved her time with her family and friends.
Loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her, she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her father, Billy R. May, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Jeffers; grandparents, Ibby Frances and Joe B. May, and Beulah Hickman.
Left to cherish the many memories include her husband of 45 years, Bobby Stone; children, Bobbie Stone Qualls, Lisa (Chris) Miller, and Charles Daniels; grandchildren, Grayson Qualls, Christian Phillips, Emma Miller, and Ava Miller; great-grandson, Elijah Jude Phillips; siblings, Billy May, and Rhonda (Gary) Culver. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Benton Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Joe Hatcher officiating.
Family and friends will gather from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, at Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.HigginsFuneral.com.
