Ms. Barbara "Boogie B" Sumler

Ms. Barbara Sumler, 56, of Lincoln Street, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at her home.

Barbara was born December 21,1968 in Waterbury, CT a daughter to the late Sidney and Lualine (Jones) Sumler.

"Boogie B", as she was known, was educated in the Waterbury public school system where she graduated from Wilby High School Class of 1986. After high school, Barbara furthered her education and became a Certified Nurses Aid. During her employment career she worked for various businesses in Waterbury including Job Lot and currently at The Elton Residential Home Care as a CNA. Barbara was a loving, helpful and caring person. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, board games and especially playing words with friends on her phone. She was an avid sports fan who loved the San Antonio Spurs and San Francisco 49ers. Most of all she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. Her infectious personality and character will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory; one sister; Regina Sumler, two brothers; Sidney Sumler Jr. and Brandon Sumler, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends. She was predeceased by one sister, Tieshia Sumler.
