Iris Ann Lehr Sumler, 87, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Chattanooga.
She was born on March 16, 1938, to the late John Franklin and Lillian Opal Lehr of South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
In her early 20's she moved to Arlington Virginia where she worked for the Department of Defense and raised her family. When she retired, she returned to South Pittsburg to enjoy the slower pace and have time for her love of gardening, quilting, sewing and her fascination with and studying of History.
She was preceded in death by sons, Christopher Scott and Michael Thomas; Sister's, Janet Webb, Barbara Nell Lehr and Elaine Beene.
Survivors include her brother, Allan Lehr of Signal Mountain, TN, sister, Sherry Jones, of Lebanon, TN, son, William (Bill) Lehr, South Pittsburg, TN, daughter, Deanna (Van) Kleyla of Painter, Virginia, grandchildren, Samantha Coleman and Maximilian Kleyla.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
