Barbara L. Tilley, 83, died October 27, 2025 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. She was born in Caribou, September 28, 1942 the daughter of the late Benjamin and H. Claudine (Ricker) White. Barb was a 1960 graduate of Caribou High School, and worked for many years at Cary Medical Center in various capacities including as a housekeeper, transcriptionist, secretary, and in the library. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, bingo, knitting slippers and blankets. Barbara loved to dance especially to Elvis and Neil Diamond. She truly enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, band and chorus concerts.
Barbara was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara “Bunna” Cassidy, sisters, Elizabeth Beaulieu and husband Clifford, and Virginia Kelley and husband George, a nephew, Scott Beaulieu. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Plourde and husband Brent of Madawaska Lake, and a son, Christopher Cassidy of Saco, grandchildren, Tyler Plourde, Whitney Dee-Lapointe and husband Jimmy, Nicholas Plourde and wife Nicole, Christopher and Mason Cassidy, great-grandchildren, Laura, Charlotte, Lennox, Chance, Walker and Carmody Plourde. She is also survived by special nephews, Rick (Marilyn) Beaulieu, Randy (Nancy) Beaulieu, Kris Kelley, Michael Kelley, and Bobby (Melinda) Kelley, and a special niece Kelly (Doug) Perry. Barbara was blessed with special friends, Janice St. Peter, Judy Duprey, Sharon McGary, and Mary Beaulieu.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Rising Hill in Limestone for the compassionate care she received while living there the last 3 years. They would also like to extend a thank-you to the Aroostook House of Comfort for the excellent care shown to Barbara and her family during her final days.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1PM at the New Sweden Covenant Church, 40 Westmanland Road, New Sweden, with Pastor Christopher Dare officiating. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will be held in the church hall following the service. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
