Marjorie L. Dahlgren, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior November 6, 2025 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. She was born in Woodland, March 30, 1936 the daughter of the late Glenn and Lida (Anderson) Campbell. Marge was a graduate of Caribou High School, and later the University of Maine at Presque Isle, earning a bachelor's degree in education. She married Guy Dahlgren, Jr. in 1955, and they immediately moved to her family farm in Perham. Marge taught school at her beloved Woodland Consolidated School for 32 glorious years. She started her first-year teaching second grade, and then kindergarten for her remaining tenure. Teaching was never a job for Marge, it was her passion. Her teaching spirit was always bright and enthusiastic. Numerous former students would continue to keep in touch with Mrs. Dahlgren long into their adult lives. She would always remember students' names and would proudly display former students' mementos in her home and enjoyed sharing a story about each and every one. Junior and Marge had 2 children, Diane Dahlgren of Caribou, and Greg Dahlgren of Orlando, FL. The children enjoyed country living on their potato farm in Perham. Many sweet treats were baked and shared by Marge during the holidays and potato harvest. Marge participated in many groups, one of her favorites being the Friendship Club. One event she held close to her heart was a pajama party event she hosted at her farm. She often spoke of that starlit night with happiness in her voice. She was also a member of the National Education Association, and in 1971 was recognized as one of the Outstanding Women of America due to her involvement in many impactful social activities. Marge was an active and lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Woodland. Her religious faith was strong, and her bible was always by her bedside; her favorite passages were marked with a recipe or photo. Marge was affectionately known as Auntie (a surrogate grandmother) to Dayna and Simone Michaud, children of Rick and Katie Michaud of Perham. Auntie loved those children as her own. Many adventures were had to the circus, baking, shopping, and fond memories at their Square Lake Camp. Marge is survived by her brothers, Paul Campbell of New Jersey, and David Campbell of Coco Beach, Florida, as well as a special niece, Rhonda McMillen. Mrs. Dahlgren was predeceased by her husband, Guy Dahlgren Jr. in 2009, and a brother Billy Campbell in 2023.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Woodland, 494 Colby Siding Road, Woodland, from 12PM until time of services which will be held at 1PM with Pastor Troy Heald officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Perham. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will follow the services.
