Robert L. LeBlanc, 85, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, November 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Caribou. He was born December 30, 1939, in Skowhegan, Maine.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, spending time in Germany. After his service, Bob had a couple of jobs until he found his true passion of working with the Caribou School Department where he drove the school bus for countless kids, most of whom affectionately called him “Big Bob”. Bob spent many hours working within the school and many, many hours on the road either picking up or dropping off kids. One of his true joys was running up and down the roads of Maine to the various sporting events and activities that the kids needed to go to, where he would also get to be a fan and cheer on these teams as they competed, always with a big smile on his face and a huge amount of joy in his heart. After retiring from the Caribou School system, he quickly failed at retirement and went back to work part time doing what he loved most for the Connor School Department until his full retirement a few years later.
Bob was an avid parishioner and volunteer for the Parish of the Precious Blood, having volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister, Faith Formation teacher, Holy Rosary Parish Council President, Pastoral Council President, member of the Finance Committee, and member of the Cemetery and Grounds committee.
Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years Bernadette (Martin) LeBlanc; daughter Lorrie (LeBlanc) Wolfgang and her husband Jeff of Holland, Michigan; son Robert II and his wife Sherrie (Plourde) LeBlanc of Milford, New Hampshire; daughter Amber (LeBlanc) Lahey and her husband Tony of Caribou, Maine; 11 grandchildren; brother Albert LaFrancois and his wife Joyce of Caribou, Maine; sister Marie Thibeault of Caribou, Maine; brother Gilford Thibeault of Caribou, Maine; and several extended family members.
Bob was predeceased by his mother Albertine LeBlanc, his loving son Mark LeBlanc, three precious grandchildren, and several other friends and family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Maine Veterans Home and the Aroostook Hospice Foundation for the amazing care given to Bob over the last several weeks and months. The family would also like to give special thanks to the members of the team at the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging for the care provided to Bob as a client over the past several years.
There will be a time of remembrance where friends and loved ones can give condolences to the family on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Mockler Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou at 12:00 noon. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Bob’s memory to the Holy Rosary Building Fund.
