Barbara Jean Tumlinson passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Uvalde Texas. She was 87 years young when she walked into Heaven and was reunited with her life long love. Hallelujah they get to spend eternity with Jesus.
Barbara was born in Denver Colorado on November 1, 1937, to Sheldon and Marie Mitchell. She met and married, Jesse Donald Tumlinson, on August 31, 1957, in Denver Colorado. They moved to Carrizo Springs, Texas, shortly after getting married.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her husband, Jesse Donald Tumlinson, on November 16, 2023; her parents, Sheldon and Marie Mitchell; and her brother, Gary Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie Tumlinson Gwinn of Uvalde; grandchildren James Dallas (JD) Gwinn (Ashley) of Iola; Justin Gwinn (Kayley) of Elgin; great-grandchildren Shaely Gwinn, Grace Gwinn, and Jesse Gwinn of Iola; Kinsley Gwinn and Kaisley Gwinn of Elgin. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held Saturday, September 20, at 10am at Uvalde Methodist Church in Uvalde.
Memorials may be given to Uvalde Methodist Church and Uvalde Hospice Organization. The family wants to send a very special thank you to Yolanda Flores, Jessica Velasquez, Steve and Ellen Balke, Nancy Ham and the Uvalde Methodist Church for all their help & love!
