Barbara Anne (Ure) McGlinchy, 67, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 30, 2024, after a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease. Barbara was born November 3, 1956, in Somerville, MA, to the late William and M. Jeanne (Theriault) Ure. Barbara graduated from Westborough High School class of 1974 and later went on to own and operate a printing business with her business partner and sister, Janet Pratt.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings Janet Pratt of South Grafton, MA, Jeanne Kamyck of Worcester, MA, John Ure of Northborough, MA, and Karen Bleakney of Westborough, MA.
Barbara is survived by her caring ex-husband, John H. McGlinchy of Worcester, MA; her loving and devoted children, Bailey Iannucci and her husband Adam Iannucci of Spencer, MA; Julia McCoy of Manchester, NH; her sister Diane Fernow and husband Todd Fernow of Simsbury CT; her adored grandchildren, Emma, Sophia, Jonathan, and Vivianne Iannucci; Kara and Willow McCoy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Barbara had piercing green eyes, a quick wit and the best sense of humor. She enjoyed music, dancing, and her many adventures with her close friends, the Divas. Despite the challenges she faced, she helped organize events, raise funds, and pioneer scientific research to help find a cure for the disease that took her health and independence. Although Barbara faced a prolonged and debilitating illness, she lived thoroughly, loved deeply, and laughed often. Barbara was fiercely loyal to her family and close friends. Barbara will be forever missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
