Barbara Joan Utz

Barbara Joan (nee St. John) Utz, 93, passed away on May 10, 2024, at SSM- St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Barbara was born on September 30, 1930, in Marquette, Michigan, to the late Edwin and Blanche (nee Richer) St. John. After graduating from Graveraet High School in 1948, she attended Northern Michigan College of Education (now Northern Michigan University) and earned a teaching degree in art in 1952. She held teaching jobs in Belleville, East China, Marine City, Marinette/Menominee and finally Fond du Lac. There she met and married Franklin Utz in 1966. After becoming pregnant the same year, she retired from teaching to be a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed reading mystery stories, antiques and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Bradleigh John Utz of Fond du Lac.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara is preceded in death by her brother, Leigh St. John of Apache Junction, Arizona.
Per Barbara's request no services will be held. Interment will be at Park Cemetery in Marquette at a later date.
