Joseph M. Schibline, 100, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, February 28, 2026 at LakeHouse of Fond du Lac. He was born June 20, 1925 in Fond du Lac, the son of Mathew and Rose (Schuller) Schibline. Joseph served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1943 – 1946 serving in the Philippines.
On August 22, 1951 he married Dorothy V. Majewski at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2008. He was a charter member of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s society for many years. Joseph enjoyed watching movies from the library, fishing, rummage sales, walking, biking, and gardening.
He is survived by two children, David (Jacquelyn) Schibline and Linda Krause; son-in-law, Augustin (Susan) Uribe; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Stark, Nikki (John) Brigham, Tammy (John) Groszczyk, Theresa (Trevor) Lauber, Christine (Jason) Kuenzi, James (Kelly) Krause, Alesa (Adam) Weber, Antonio (Kristin) Uribe, and Paul Uribe; great grandchildren, Jacob Stark, Matt Stark, Taylor, Michael, Jackson, and Brooklyn Brigham, Emily (Patrick) Merkel, Zackary, Morgan, and Michael Groszczyk, Tyler (Sarah Baumgartner) Lauber, Hunter Lauber, Liam and Jackson Kuenzi, Paisley and Layne Krause, Mariana, Abigail, and Slayden Viau, Owen Kronberger, Roman and Everett Uribe; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Mary Uribe; son-in-law, Kenneth Krause; siblings, Donald Schibline, Edward (Betty) Schibline, Ethel (Bruce) Stinemates, Doris (Oliver) Bragg, Jack (Carma) Schibline, and Michael (Koleen) Schibline.
The visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way in Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM on Thursday at church. Military honors will be held after Mass. Cremation will follow the traditional services and inurnment will be held in Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s name can be made to the family and items will be donated to the activity department at LakeHouse of Fond du Lac.
