Barbara Ann Rister Vance, of Pearl, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 89. Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and the funeral will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, March 22, 2024, in the chapel at Ott & Lee. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
Mrs. Vance was born on October 30, 1934, to Roy Rowe and Velma Nixon Rowe in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was married to Leon Rister until his passing in 1981, and together they had three children. She worked for the State of Mississippi in the Department of Human Services. She was a very active member of Grace Baptist Church in Brandon, where she sang in the choir.
Mrs. Vance is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Velma Rowe; first husband, Leon Rister; second husband, Bill Vance; daughter, Karen Randall; and sister, Edwina Romine.
She is survived by her daughters, Kerri Rister (Don Ross) and Krista Jackson (Barry Lewis); grandchildren, Lacey Jackson and Mark Randall; niece, Lisa Romine; and nephew, Dariel Romine (JoAnn).
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Mrs. Vance’s caretakers, Angela Kendrick and Edna Banger.
