Barbara Scott Vorce, 85, of Bainbridge, formerly of Grand Junction, CO, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025.

The memorial service will be held at a later date in Grand Junction. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com. Memorial donations may be made to Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society, 808 Zorn Road, Bainbridge, GA 39817.

Barbara Jean Scott was born June 28, 1940, in Lenora, KS, the daughter of Lorene & LouElla Beougher Scott. She worked as a bookkeeper at Westinghouse, Dalby Winling Jennings (for many years), and retired from Ace Hardware.

Barbara loved the simple pleasures of life like casting a line while fishing, swaying to music, and especially dancing the jitterbug, which always brought a sparkle to her eyes. A talented and determined competitor, she was proud to be a gold medalist in the Senior Olympics for shooting pool. Barbara enjoyed playing darts and shuffleboard. (She made sure every member of her family learned to play shuffle board.) She knew her way around the kitchen. Barbara was a wonderful cook and baker. She found joy in preparing meals that brought everyone together. The bigger the BBQ, the better she liked it.

Survivors include her children, Debora Lanam and Kathryn Locke (Gerald Mudge); her grandchildren, Brandi, Daniel, Scott, Brandon, Kristen, and D.J.; her seventeen great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert Scott. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Harry Vorce; her daughter, Tana Jo Duncan; and her brother, Michael Scott.
