Barbara was born of the union of Cora Lee and Henry Wade (who predeceased her) in Trenton New Jersey on November 18TH 1951. She departed this life on October 16, 2024. Barbara was raised in Perth Amboy N.J. where She attended Perth Amboy Public Schools.
She is also predeceased by her husband Mr. Clyde Wilkins, Sister and Nephew Gwendolyn and Tyrone Montgomery.
With a love for people, she worked at the Roosevelt Care Center in Metuchen N.J. for over 15 years as a Certified Nurse's Aide.
Barbara was known for her cheerful heart and willingness to help anyone she encountered. She had two God Children, Dwight Barnes and Latia Haywood. She was kindhearted, and fun-loving with a big smile. She had two longtime friends Emmet Gosha and Gloria Berry with whom she's rejoicing now, in heavenly places.
Barbara was a lifelong member of St James A.M.E. Zion Church where she served and shared for all of her life until her recent illness. She served with the Conference Workers and Women's Missionary Society. She sang with the Mass Choir. During the Churches 80th Anniversary Barbara took to the streets and garnered the most ads from businesses in the Perth Amboy downtown area.
Barbara Loved her family dearly. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren Jalynn and Caleb. She was a sweet spirit who loved music, her pet dog, Marlee and cat, Meelah. She would often hangout at the hair salon with Tamara Lamb and Saniyah Williams. She was cared for by her loving daughter Shauntay.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving Son Clyde Wilkins, Daughter Shauntay Wilkins Granddaughter Jalynn Wilkins, Grandson Caleb Wilkins, Nephews Christopher Montgomery, Jeffrey Montgomery, Niece Stacy Montgomery, Best friend Shauntay's Godmother Thelma Jones and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation is Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 11 am - 1 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 1 pm at the
