Barbara Ann Walker, 80, of Ben Wheeler, TX went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2025. Barbara was born on September 5, 1944, to Henry Leldon and Mildred Mae Williams in Athens, TX. She graduated from Kimball High School, Dallas, Tx. On May 8, 1964, she married James David Walker, and they spent a loving 51 years together before he passed away in October 2015. Before her marriage she did work as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell but turned her passions to her family and raising 4 children. Barbara and her family moved to Scurry in 1980 where she lived until she moved in with her daughter, in 2017. She enjoyed knowing all she could know about flowers, even knowing the names of every plant and tree, watching birds and cooking. She took care of many dogs and pets at home. Barbara attended the First Assembly of God Church in Kaufman for as long as she lived in Scurry but recently attended Garden Valley Church in Lindale, while living with her daughter. Barbara’s most precious time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Mildred, husband David, and siblings: Leldon Williams, Marie Gillentine, and Norma Magness. Those left to cherish her memory are children: Beverly Tillery and husband Jerry, James Walker and wife Kelli, Susan Flores and husband David and Danny Walker; grandchildren: Jacob Walker, Amy Walker, Uvaldo Zumaya and wife Jherlynn, Katelin Walker, Brandon Zumaya, David Flores III and wife Lacey, Austin Walker, and Adrian Flores; great grandchildren: Liam Walker, David Asher Flores, Ullyssa Zumaya and Ivy Dean Flores; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
