Barbara M. Weimer

Barbara M. Weimer, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Fallbrook Woods, Portland. Barbara was born on July 14, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born the second child to Mary (Dixon) and Winthrop Cole. Barbara was raised by her grandmother Susie Dixon in Portland and attended local schools graduating from Deering High School in 1959. Barbara met her husband, Mervin and they were married shortly after graduation. Barbara and Mervin worked for over 40 years together at Mercy Hospital and they were inseparable during their 63 years of marriage until she lost Mervin in 2022. Barbara loved to cook and loved butterflies.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother Roger Cole. Barbara is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Weimer of Portland and Linda Thorpe of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be at Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland, Sunday, January 4th at 1pm followed by a funeral service at 3pm.

A graveside service will be private at Brooklawn Cemetery, Portland.
