Barbara West Obituary

Born on January 18, 1943, in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Grace (Novy) Miller.
Barbara graduated with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, which led to several memorable and influential years of transforming young lives. Barbara then poured her whole heart into being a loving wife to Dale and mother to daughters Amy and Sarah. Dale and Barbara married on August 8, 1970, and the two enjoyed a special 50th Anniversary Celebration in September of 2020.
Barbara was a loyal servant to God first and foremost. She loved sharing the love and warmth of her Savior Jesus Christ with as many people as possible. Her passions for cooking and playing the piano were enjoyed by many. New Covenant Community Church was her home, but the influence of her caring ways reached far beyond. Faith and family were always interwoven in Barbara's sphere of influence. Barbara's passion for music continuously gave her a song to share, her interest in gardening resulted in delicious food for others, and her love of poetry created personalized books for her daughters. Barbara's love and legacy is felt deeply and she will be greatly missed.
Barbara is survived by many loving family members including her dear husband, Dale West, daughters, Amy West and Sarah Lawton (Sean); siblings, H. Richard Miller and Mary Godfrey (Chips); and her beloved grandchildren, Kaylee, Kiera, and Katherine Lawton.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the New Covenant Community Church, 27 N Market St, Johnstown, NY 12095.
Interment will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.

Dale you are in our thoughts and prayers. I will always be grateful for Barb. You could walk into the store at almost anytime and see her smiling face. She taught me how to use the concordance when I was a young lady. She will be missed by so many. Sending love
