Tommy Lee West, 72, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home. He was born in Lubbock, TX, son of the late Floyd Dean West and Mattie Mae Young West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Buddy West and Jim West. Mr. West was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served in Vietnam.
Mr. West is survived by his wife, with whom he has shared his life with for 47 years, Katheryn Ehrlich West; his step-daughter, Gretchen Lewis (Kory); his grandchildren, Craig Young (Kayleigh), Scott Young (Harleigh), and James Young; his great-grandchildren, Arthur and Camille; his siblings, J.R. Blunk (Teresa) and Tina Reeves (Stuart); former son-in-law, Jeff Young; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Rick, Crystal, and Johnny.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. West will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. A private burial, with military honors, will be held at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
