Barbara Foster Wiley, 74, of Columbus, Georgia, peacefully passed away at home on Friday,February 27, 2026.

Barbara was born on October 2, 1951, at the Bush Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. She spent nearly all her life in Columbus living, working, and cherishing time with her family. She was a proud graduate of Jordan High School (Class of 1969), where she studied Business. Barbara started working at the age of 18, first at Albrights’ Florist in a Jordan work-study program, then at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, where she spent 25 years working in positions ranging from Dictation Word Processing to Executive Administrative Assistant. In the next two years, she worked for three different companies, ending at Aflac as a Executive Administrative Assistant for 15 years. After retiring from there, she worked at The Valley Rescue Mission as Executive Assistant to the President through 2020. She ended her employment career at the job she loved the most – working for her nephew and niece, Steven and Samantha at Columbus Glass Masters. Barbara shared a marriage of over 35 years with her devoted husband, Ferrel. Known to family and friends as BaBa and Boo, their relationship was built on love for each other, love of family, and love of God. 

Barbara will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother,sister, aunt, and friend. Her love for her family was steadfast, and her legacy will live on through the memories, laughter, and lessons she leaves behind.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Foster Jr. and Margaret (Scott) McKenzie, brother, Mickey Foster and daughter Karen Brock. 

She leaves behind a family who loves her deeply and who felt her unconditional love everyday, along with countless friends and colleagues who will never forget her. 

She is survived by her husband, Ferrel Wiley, her daughter, Sheri Watson (Jason), her grandsons, Brannen Wood (Ashley), Turner Wood, and Joshua Watson, her favorite granddaughter, Jordan Watson, her favorite great granddaughter, Sutton McKenzie Wood, brothers, Ricky Foster (Shirley) and Wayne Foster (Sherry), nephews Scott Foster (Sylvia),Brad Foster (Jenny), and Steven Foster (Samantha), niece Nicole Stevens (Trent), and many great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends who loved her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Schomburg Road Baptist Church in Barbara’s memory, honoring her life and love of God, family, and friends.
