Barbara A. Williams, beloved wife, mother, sister, and devoted community servant, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on October 21, 1946, in Talladega, Alabama, Barbara's life's journey brought her to Muncie, Indiana, where she was lovingly raised by her Aunt Jimmie Lou Harris. Barbara's commitment to education was unwavering, despite the challenges she faced. After dropping out of Muncie Central High School to care for her family, she later returned and earned her Diploma in 1973. She further pursued her intellectual passions by studying general studies at BSU and earning a Bachelor's degree in Theology from Charles Harrison Mason Bible College. Her devotion extended beyond academia to her family life. Barbara shared 62 years of marriage with her beloved husband, James Williams Jr., and together they nurtured a loving home for their children, Tony Williams and Janice Hopkins. Barbara's generosity knew no bounds as she dedicated countless hours to serving her community, volunteering at Christian Ministries in Muncie, Indiana. Her love for research led her to delve into the realms of astrophysics and ancient Biblical history, reflecting her deep curiosity and spiritual connection. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Onie Coy Harris, mother, Grace Harris (Pearson), brother Shelby Roberts, and grandson Antonio Williams. She leaves behind her loving husband, children, brother Phillip A. Harris (aka Tony), and grandchildren Miranda McCord, Taras Isom Jr., David Willimas, James Isom, Hassan Jackson, and Willie Williams. In the arms of the divine, Barbara's spirit now soars freely, guided by the faith that illuminated her path throughout her earthly journey. As we grieve her physical absence, may we find solace in the knowledge that she is now united with her loved ones who have gone before her, basking in the eternal light of God's love. A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on [provide details here]. In honoring her memory, may we carry forward her legacy of faith, compassion, and service to others, knowing that her spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

Though we didn't see or even speak often, the love you showed me and my siblings from afar was always felt. I remember you as a beautiful and loving auntie and was always proud to call you family.
