Barbara Ann Wolf (Born March 8, 1936 - Departed September 30, 2025)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Wolf of Eugene, Missouri.
Barbara was born in Springfield, MO in 1936 to Maxine and Garfield Copeland, who raised her lovingly in St. Louis. Barb went on in life to have four children of her own. She raised her family in St. Louis before moving to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1975.
Barb spent her time in retirement as a homemaker, but before then, she took on many roles and was never bored. Barb always loved to tell stories of her many adventures as a real estate agent. She remembered the Lake of the Ozarks when the shorelines were still trees instead of houses and recalled its beauty in those years. Barb also worked as a detective for a time and was employed at a women's prison. She also took on entrepreneurial ventures as a campground owner/operator and the owner of the former Crazy Horse Saloon. She watched the Lake of the Ozarks develop over her many years and could tell you stories about just about any place here at the lake.
When she wasn't working, Barb loved to spend time with her family and friends. To this day, her children recall mom teaching them how to ski on one foot, where to find the best sales, and how to cook anything under the sun. As grandmothers go, Grandma Barb was as good as they come. She was always up for a day of baking delicious treats, creating masterful crafts, singing songs at the piano, or playing all the board games you can imagine. Barb lovingly crafted intricate dresses for each of her granddaughters when occasions arose and provided insightful lessons to each of her grandsons in life and love. Each of her grandchildren recall their time with Grandma Barb as instrumental in both their upbringing and who they would grow to become.
Barb also vacationed often and talked fondly of her many travels. The Hasty Family Reunion was an annual highlight for her. No matter the weather, her health, or any other barrier, Barb always attended the reunion. She made her cabin reservations (at least) a year in advance knowing that nothing would stop her from gathering with her extended family. It was on the Jack's Fork River that she taught her children and grandchildren to paddle a canoe, jump off cliffs and, in general, take time to breathe and enjoy nature with family.
As a homemaker, Barb hosted beautiful gatherings with friends and family. She was an incredible hostess who loved to get dressed up and entertain. The meal was always spectacular with much more than the guests could consume. From beautifully folded napkins to mouthwatering desserts, Barb never skipped out on the details and no holiday was overlooked.
Lastly, Barb was a talented artist. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and quilting the most, but there wasn't a craft project she couldn't pull off. She loved to give her handiwork to friends and loved ones. We now cherish these creations as treasured gifts and mementos with her love worked into every thread and panel.
Throughout her 89 years, Barbara exemplified and instilled values such as patience, obedience, self-reliance, self-control, responsibility, hard work, and good manners. Above all, she taught us love. Though she is no longer with us, her family will carry these lessons forward into every chapter of their lives.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Maxine Copeland and her father Garfield (Jerry) Copeland, her husband Richard Wolf, and one daughter, Tracee Maxine Hood. She is survived by three of her children John Stan Hood, Steve William Hood, and Tamara Robin Denton, grandchildren Tara Orozco, James Whitehead, Amy Atler, Lou Hood, Callista Hood, and Nic Hood, great grandchildren Keira Allen, Korinne Allen, Mitchell Orozco, Kallie Hayes, London Whitehead, Elise Whitehead, James Arthur Whitehead, Christopher Atler, and Liliana Atler, and her great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved furry companion, Sweetie Pie.
There are no formal services planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 1270 S Business Route 5, Camdenton, MO 65020 (573) 346-2090. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
