Jamey Edwin Sheppard passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 9, 1977, in Milan, Missouri. Jamey spent his childhood in St. Clair, Missouri, his teenage years in Trenton, Missouri, and later built his adult life in Columbia, Missouri, before settling at the west side of the Lake of the Ozarks. The Lake became his true home, where he
worked for G2M/Town and Country and devoted himself to raising his beloved son, Ethan Dean Sheppard (born October 22, 2016).
Jamey is also survived by his daughter, Johannah Marie Sheppard (born December 24, 1993), and his granddaughter, Emalina Rose Sawyer (born April 3, 2019), who brought him great joy. His parents, Howard Floyd Sheppard of Washington, Missouri, and Pamela Joyce Sheppard of Gravois Mills, Missouri, survive him, as does his grandmother, Enola Mae Collier. He is also
survived by his sister, Audrey Dawn Sheppard, and her husband, Craig Mounts, of Gravois Mills. Jamey was a devoted uncle to Clayton Mounts, Lola Sheppard, Brayden Sheppard, Erika & Brendon Harmon, Kiana Mounts, and Damion Mounts, and a proud great-uncle to ten greatnieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Arthur Bryan Collier; paternal grandparents, Gladys and Alvin "Delvin" Sheppard; uncle Danny Collier; aunt Roni Fowler; and great-aunt Geraldine Price, along with many other relatives. He leaves behind a wide circle of cousins and extended family, with special recognition to his first cousins Goldie Fleming and
Sara Collier, who shared countless memories and bonds with him.
Jamey attended East Central College, before going to Mizzou where he majored in Biology. He had a lifelong passion for biology. He dedicated himself to the natural world, from helping remove unwanted snapping turtles to contributing to crane migration research. His passion for science will continue beyond his lifetime through his decision to donate his body to research at MU Hospital.
He lived life with courage and adventure, enjoying skydiving, knife throwing, and axe throwing-where he earned awards for his achievements. Yet, above all else, Jamey's proudest role was being a father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. His love for his children, granddaughter, and family was the foundation of his life.
A celebration of Jamey's life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sunrise Beach Community Center. Light refreshments will be served.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 1270 S Business Route 5, Camdenton, MO 65020 (573) 346-2090. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
