Barbara A. Woods was a vibrant soul who embraced life with passion, purpose, and artistry, has taken her final bow.
Born on August 12, 1949, to the devoted John H. and Arletha W. Woods, Barbara's life was a masterpiece painted with resilience, talent, and unwavering love. A native Texan with an adventurous spirit, Barbara's journey led her to Denver, Colorado, for a brief but life changing chapter where her beloved son, John Woods, was born, becoming a testament to her greatest role in life: being a mother. Barbara was a woman of dual brilliance. By day, she dedicated her intellect and professionalism to TXU Energy, but by night, she transformed into a luminary of the stage, captivating audiences in theaters across Texas with her commanding presence and performances. Acting was not merely a hobby, but her calling for which she poured her heart and soul, leaving a mark on all who had the privilege of witnessing her artistry.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, her cherished son, John L. Woods, five grandsons, and a host of great grandchildren. A sister Mary Flack, brother Eddie Woods ( Elmarine Woods) and a loving church family (Forest Hills Church of Christ). Though her physical presence has left this world, her spirit endures in every act of courage, every embrace of creativity, and moment of kindness inspired by her life. Barbara's story is one of triumph, grace, and unyielding commitment to her passions. She has now stepped into the eternal spotlight, where her light will never dim.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday January 3rd from 3-5pm at Brown Owens & Brumley Funeral Home
