Barney Theodore Hensley, Jr., 85, of Dardanelle, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 4, 1940 in Augusta, Arkansas to the late Barney Theodore Hensley Sr., and Lucille Marie Hensley. Barney was a man of deep faith and devotion to God, whose life reflected service, love, and dedication to others. He found great joy in the outdoors, spending his days fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden. Barney had a heart for his community, serving as a Boy Scouts leader where he guided young men with wisdom and encouragement, and as a volunteer firefighter, always ready to lend a helping hand in times of need. His strong faith, generous spirit, and love for family and friends will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his sisters, Judy Parkridge (Dickie), Sue Felty (Netter), and Letha Jackson (Glenn), special friends, Jackson Beehrle (Kristen), Rodney Beehrle, Buster Berryhill, Robbie Gray (Susan), his two furry companions, Choco and Spinner. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Annie Laura Hensley, and his sisters, Gayle Basinger and Mona Jenkins. The family of Mr. Hensley would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the ladies that cared for him, Whitney, Chanita, and Kamylle. Their gentle presence, comforting words, and professional skill made a difficult time easier to bear. They went beyond simply providing care-they gave our family peace of mind, knowing he was in such capable and caring hands. For that, we will always be grateful. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Augusta, Arkansas with Brother Charles Kendricks officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit before services from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Augusta, Arkansas. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County.
