James Elli Hardaway, 61, of Augusta, Arkansas departed this life on August 18, 2025 at Unity Health in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born July 11, 1964 in Augusta, Arkansas to J. D. Davis and Nettie B. Hardaway. James will be remembered by his family for his big heart, vibrant spirit, and love for life. He enjoyed waking up early to walk around town, always greeting the day with energy and purpose. Known as the life of every party, he loved spending time with friends, sharing laughs, and enjoying a good drink. James had a helpful nature, always ready to lend a hand with any task and protect those he loved. A devoted brother, son, cousin, and friend, he cared deeply for others and never hesitated to put their needs before his own. His warmth, loyalty, and joyful presence will be forever cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Nettie B. Hardaway, his brother, Wayne Hardaway Jr., his aunts, Willie Mae Hardaway and Geneva Hawkins, his uncle, Robert Hardaway, and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Davis, his grandparents, James and Alberta Hardaway, and many aunts and uncles. "We love you, but God loves you more" - The Hardaway Family - Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Augusta, Arkansas. Visitation will be held prior to services from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow services at Quiet Cemetery in Augusta, Arkansas. Repast will be hosted at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta, Arkansas. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County.
