James Elijah Corley, 65, of McCrory, Arkansas departed this life on September 30, 2025 at his home. He was born November 7, 1959 in McCrory, Arkansas to the late L.B. and Annie Mae Corley. If you didn't have the chance to know James, you truly missed the opportunity to know a great man of God. His life was a testament to his faith, marked by service, love for his family, and a deep commitment to honoring God in all he did. He served faithfully with the Highway Department for 20 years until his retirement. He was a devoted member and deacon of Morning View Missionary Baptist Church in McCrory, Arkansas. James was an outdoorsman at heart and a man known for his reliability, strength of character, and unwavering faith. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and church community. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Lashawnda Randolph of McCrory, AR, two grandsons, Jamone McCoy of McCrory, AR, and Jessy Stephens of Newport, AR, two great grandchildren, Blakelyn McCoy and Jacovy McCoy both of McCrory, AR, two brothers, Don Corley (Edith) of Augusta, AR, and Jerry Corley (Janice) of California, four sisters, Lucille Alford, Barbara Jackson, Carolyn Corley all of California, and Cylene Word of Conway, Arkansas. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lillie Robinson, and his brother, Jessy Turnage. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Morning View Missionary Baptist Church in McCrory, Arkansas. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Morning View Cemetery in McCrory, Arkansas with a repass immediately following burial at Morning View Missionary Baptist Church. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, Rickey Dale Moore, Johnny Green, James Collins, Donnie Dicus, W.L. Dicus, and Charles Boswell. Honorary pallbearers are Shun Corley, Leslie Corley, Don Corley, and Jerry Corley. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County.
