Sharon Kay Rushing

Sharon Kay Rushing, age 80, of Augusta, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by her family. Sharon was born on April 29, 1945, to Buddy and Edna Fronabarger. She lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Sharon deeply loved her church and found joy in spending time outdoors, especially digging in the dirt, tending to plants and watching birds. One of her favorite sites was the hummingbirds. Whether working in the garden or caring for those around her, she brought warmth and compassion to everyone she met. Her gentle spirit and giving heart touched many lives.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Rushing; her daughter, Angie Hardcastle and her fiancé Brian Gast; and her cherished grandchildren, Porter, Elliott and Payton. Sharon's family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in the love they shared.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Augusta on March 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with a memorial visitation held prior to services beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In place of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church of Augusta. Sharon will be remembered for her loving heart, her faith, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and generosity.
