O B I T U A R Y

Barney Joe Shuffett of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Joseph Eugene Shuffett and Wanda Mae Coffey Shuffett, was born on Monday, August 16, 1954 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 while farming in Adair County. He was 71 years, 5 months, and 26 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Separate Baptist Church where he served faithfully. He was a true man of God who loved to give to others and care for those in need. Barney loved spending time with his family and held the titles of husband, father, grandfather, and (soon to be) great-grandfather proudly. He was a farmer and loved to be out in the fields cutting wood and tending to the land His Lord and Savior blessed him with. He was also an active member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Donna Ruth Carter Shuffett of Greensburg, having united in marriage on June 10, 1972.

Other survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law: Cara Shuffett Brown and Chad of Adair County, Laura Shuffett Mohn and Erik of Oldham County; four grandchildren: Macy Shively and Landon, Ally Brown and her companion, Kaden Richard all of Adair County, Claire Mohn, Evan Mohn both of Oldham County; his soon to be great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Barney Joe Shuffett will be conducted at 11 A.M., Central Time, Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Liberty Separate Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Bro Stephen Stilts and Mark Givens officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Central Time, Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 9 A.M., Central Time, Saturday at the Liberty Separate Baptist Church.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or Hosparus of Green River which can both be made at the funeral home.
