Barrera Rafael

Rafael Barrera entered the gates to eternal rest on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on April 15,1948, in Port Isabel, TX. Rafael was a beloved husband to his deceased wife Rosalinda Barrera for 57 years, a father of eight children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Modesto and Ignacia Barrera and son Rafael Barrera Jr. He is survived by his daughters Nancy Espinoza, MaryAnn Contreras, Rebecca Rodriguez, and Vanessa Barrera, sons Larry Barrera, Ruben Barrera, and Albert Barrera.
Rafael was a very simple, independent, strong person, and always full of love. He was known for his love for football (Dallas Cowboys) and his sense of humor. He instilled in us the importance of hard work, and kindness. He loved the ocean, nature, animals, his cat Coco, dog Betty Boop, and the simple things in life.
His absence leaves a void in our hearts. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, countless extended family members, and great friends. He will forever be in our hearts.
