Mr. Barry Moore Baker Sr.

Barry Moore Baker, 87, passed from this life at his home in Laguna Woods Village on October 21, 2018, surrounded by family and close friends. He was a resident of Southern California for the past 49 years in Carlsbad, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, and Laguna Woods Village.
Born in Portsmouth NH on January 30, 1931, to Louis Pratt Baker and Edna Adelaide DeBaun, he was the youngest of six children (Dorothy, Virginia, Barbara, Louise, and David). A graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Business Administration, he took a few years away from college during the Korean War to serve as a 1st Lt. in the US Army. He was a brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
His career was in the management of manufacturing printed circuit boards; first at RCA in New Jersey, then transferring to a position in California in 1969. He worked at Bell Industries in Santa Ana producing multilayer circuit boards for military applications including the NASA Space Shuttle. After retirement, he dedicated his service to the management of the Canyon Club in Laguna Beach, a facility devoted to aiding in the recovery of alcoholism by providing meetings, activities, and fellowship.
He is survived by former spouse Clara T. Baker, daughter Amy DeBaun, son-in-law John Kinabrew (all of Vernon, CT), daughter-in-law Barbara Baker, granddaughters Lauren Baker and Jennifer Baker (all of Irvine), grandson Barry Moore Baker III of Tucson, AZ, sister Barbara Long of Portsmouth, NH and very dear friends Greg Horvath of Huntington Beach and Julie Montroy of Laguna Woods.
Barry was predeceased by his son Barry Moore Baker, Jr formerly of Irvine, sisters Dorothy Martine formerly of Exeter, NH, Virginia Fischer formerly of Chester, CT, and Louise Kelly formerly of Vista, and brother David formerly of Port Charlotte, FL.
He was a man of family, friends, love, service, integrity, generosity and kindness. A true gentleman and highly regarded by everyone who ever had the opportunity to know him, he will reside forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of his life will be held Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 2 -5 PM at the Canyon Club 20456 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.
