Barry Coalson, age 70 of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at his residence. Born in Carrollton on August 26, 1954, he was the son of the late Paul Coalson, Jr. and the late Sarah Helen Ellison Hastings. In addition to his parents, Barry is proceeded in death by his sisters, Nancy, Carol, and Barbara.

A graduate of Mt. Zion High School, Barry enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served from 1973 until being honorably discharged in 1976. He received the National Defense Service Medal. For many years, Barry worked as a truck driver. Having a selfless personality, he was always willing to help others. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and watching westerns. Always a jokester, he had special pet names for those he loved and he enjoyed making people laugh. Barry fiercely loved his family and will be missed by those who loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his children: Dana "Squirrel" Coalson, Katie "Ears" Martin, Lori "Trek" Cook, Valerie "Theodore" Collin, and Meagan "Toot" Maples; his precious grandchildren: Taylor, Kylah, Aja, Shaun, Brooklyn, Blake, Rylan, Autumn, Nolan, Jayden, and Joshua; his brother, Jerry "Bro Man" Coalson; and his special friend, Kathy Maples. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

In keeping with Barry's wishes, he will be cremated.
