Barry Friedson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Herman Meyer & Son, Inc. from Apr. 21 to Apr. 22, 2022.
Barry Friedson, 85, of Louisville, KY, passed away with his family by his side on April 19, 2022. He was born in New York, NY December 11, 1936, to Sol and Rose Friedson. Barry is survived by his loving children, Jeff Friedson and his wife Christine, Ilene Currier, daughter, and David Friedson and his wife Debbye; his sister, Jamilla Morley. Barry was happily married to his beloved Sandra Friedson for 28 years and Gloria Friedson Soltes for 25 years prior (mother to Jeff, Ilene, and David).

Barry was a committed philanthropist, donating his time and money to many causes in the Louisville and global Jewish community. Barry was an avid runner in his earlier years (including the NY marathon). A true connoisseur of antiques and the arts. A card player and a golfer (or attempted to be). Always quick witted with a joke or a rhyme, giving all in the room with him, a smile.

Barry graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a Chemical Engineer and obtained his Masters of Science degree from Stevens Institute of Technology. His proudest moments as a professional were as a businessman cherished by the teams he led in the flavors and fragrances manufacturing industry. Barry loved spending time with his family and friends at the Village Crossing Retirement Community, especially spending time with Maryanne Cooper.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m, Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Herman Meyer & Son, Inc., 1338 Ellison Avenue, Louisville, KY, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation Cemetery-North, 1300 E 161st St, Westfield, IN 46074 at 3:00 p.m.

In Memory of Barry, donations are appreciated to Gilda's Club Kentuckiana, 2440 Grinstead Dr, Louisville, KY 40204.

Very sorry Jeff and family to hear of your Father“s passing. Even though I did not know him, I enjoyed reading about his life.
