I met Barry nearly 50 years ago when we worked at Lakeshore Mental Health Institute in Knoxville. We stayed in contact, intermittently, for decades, and I will always consider him a very dear friend. He had a big, open heart and a killer sense of humor that could elevate even the darkest moods. He had an artist´s soul, deep and sometimes tormented. He was athletic and strong, dedicated to rigorous training. He loved his family, and spoke of his late grandmother frequently.
We hadn´t talked in many years but he holds a special place in my heart and I will continue to think of him fondly, always. Rest in peace, old friend.
