Barry Rosenthal
Born September 26, 1943, passed away with his loving wife; Cathy, by his side as she always was, on August 2, 2025.
Barry was a lot of things; a Veteran, a character, a hustler, comedian, a story teller, a friend and a collector. Above everything, he was a devoted father who would move mountains for his kids.
Barry proudly served his country as a First Class Quartermaster in the Navy for 12 years before joining his father in the workforce. He spent much of his life as a mobile home Salesman, where his charismatic personality served him well.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Gertrude Rosenthal, his sister, Reeva Sterling and her daughter Robin Sherman. He is survived by his wife Cathy, children; Ben (Laura) Rosenthal, Rachel (Nathan) Smith, Brent Rosenthal, and his sister Gail (Gary) Zelizer. He had 3 beautiful granddaughters that meant the world to him, Lucy Rosenthal, Abby and Emma Smith. In addition to several nieces and nephews; Bari (Thomas) Gullo, Adam (Angel) Zelizer, their children; Rose and Abby, and Scott Silverman and Paula Wilson.
Barry lived to defy the rules, he always ate what he wanted, which was nothing good for him. This also pertained to any rule he didn't like, he once rode his motorized scooter to the bank down MLK Hwy and felt he should argue with the cop who stopped him for being unsafe. Barry was known for his ability to ride the line. Despite his obstinance, everyone who knew Barry loved him. He had the type of personality that always drew you back in and one you could never stay mad at.
We know he is up in Heaven with his dad betting on horses and cracking jokes or sorting through baseball cards. He will be forever loved and missed and will always be thought of fondly and often.
