Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Home - Pace Chapel on May 28, 2024.
Barry Charles Weber, 77, of
Milton, Florida, sailed peacefully into his final port of call on May 26, 2024, following a long battle with bladder cancer. He was born on August 6, 1946, to the late Harold and Erma (Nagel) Weber in
Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
In 1964, before graduating high school, Barry was called to serve his country during the Vietnam War. Though he missed the ceremony due to his deployment, he graduated from McCaskey High School in 1965. Being a part of a family with a long history of military service, it was no surprise when Barry once again entered into active duty, enlisting into the Navy in 1980. He proudly served his country traveling the world for 16 years until his retirement in 1996. Even after his Naval retirement, the "old salt" returned to working at sea for several years on oil rigs, then finally joining the Merchant Marines until his final retirement in 2012.
Barry loved traveling and amassed a large collection of postcards from his many ports of call around the world and enjoyed regaling his friends and family with stories of life at sea. He was a devoted father and husband who loved racing cars, fishing and eating barbecue dinners. He was especially devoted to his wife of 44 years, Sharon Louise Weber (1954-2018), who was the love of his life and preceded him in death. Barry also loved spending his time with his friends and neighbors, going to hockey games, playing bingo and pickleball, and talking to anyone and everyone he met. He had an especially soft spot in his heart for dogs, of which he had many cherished pets over the years.
He is survived by his daughter, Elisha Jordan (Gus Ortega) of
Katy, Texas; son, Matthew (Amanda) Weber; and grandchildren, Ellie and Chase Weber of
Pace, Florida.
A Committal Service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, (Shelter A),

Because of Barry's love of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to a local animal rescue or shelter of your choice.
