Barry Dale Wilmoth moved on peacefully from this world on September 24, 2025, at the age of 64 surrounded by loved ones in his hometown, Dobson, North Carolina. A beloved member of his family and community, Barry brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. An avid sports fan and athlete, Barry loved watching, coaching, and playing sports, and golfing with his friends. He was well-known for his wicked sense of humor, and his strong disdain for anything Carolina. Nothing made Barry happier than spending time with family and friends. Always ready with a funny quip or a gag gift, Barry had no trouble bringing smiles to those around him. His most recent passion was holding the title of Culinary King of the Big Green Egg. Barry enjoyed helping others through the 508 Foundation and Give a Kid a Christmas and took a great interest in getting supplies to the victims of Hurricane Helene in western NC. Barry was preceded in death by and is now reunited with his father Larry Wilmoth and his son Dave Wilmoth in their heavenly home. Barry will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, Anne Wilmoth; son, Dan Wilmoth; mother, Jo Ann Wilmoth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Lori Wilmoth, and Keith and Emily Wilmoth; and his brother-in-law, Graham and Melissa Atkinson; as well as many nieces, nephews and close family friends. Services will be held at Dobson First Baptist Church on Friday, September 26, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1PM, with the service at 1 PM with Rev. Cory Honeycutt officiating. Burial to follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by check to the 508 Foundation at 632 Crossroad Church Rd, Dobson, NC 27017 or to Give a Kid a Christmas at PO Box 832, Dobson, NC 27017.
