Barry Young

Barry Edmund Young born September 27, 1959, in Plainfield, New Jersey, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Easton, Pennsylvania, after a short battle with an illness. He was the youngest of four brothers born to the late William Brown Young and Virginia Howard Wilson Young. He attended Plainfield Public Schools and was a member of the Class of "77 at Plainfield High School.
Barry wed his beloved wife, Teri Denise Cleckley-Young on December 23, 1983, in Plainfield, NJ; from their union, they were blessed with their son, Justin LaMar, and five years later, their daughter, Sequoia Janai. Besides marrying the love of his life, Barry's children were his proudest accomplishment. He loved his entire family with every part of his mind, body, and soul. A family man through and through, nothing mattered more to him than God and his family.
Barry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Teri, his children, Justin LaMar of Glen Burnie, MD, and Sequoia Janai of Easton PA; his brothers Bruce (Gale) of Overland, KS, and Vance (Nanci) of Bowie MD, sister-in-law, Pamela Young of Henderson, NV, mother-in-law, Lela M. Cleckley who resided with him, sister-in-law Brenda (Calvin) Rhea of Germantown, MD, brother-in-law Johnnie (Bettina) Cleckley of Charlotte, NC, three godsons, Ian Timothy and Sherrod Tyrone Cox, and Elijah David Rhea, as well as nine nieces, five nephews, four great nieces, six great nephews, a host of bonus nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Barry was predeceased by his brother William "Billy" Young.
