Bart Randell Fontenot, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, was born on Saturday, September 12, 1959, in Ville Platte, Louisiana. He spent his life surrounded by the natural beauty of his hometown, where he also passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the age of 65.
Bart had many passions, which included fishing, hunting, and barbecuing, as well as the simple pleasure of cutting grass. These hobbies brought him joy and connected him with the people and the land he cherished.
He leaves behind a loving family that will cherish his memory eternally. Bart is survived by his wife of 44 years, Emeline Vidrine Fontenot, and their three sons: Jason Fontenot, Dustin Fontenot, and Shane Fontenot and wife, Naomi. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Nadia, Payton, Aaron, Brooke, Ava, and Zane, who brought him immense joy.
Bart was the devoted brother to Todd Fontenot and his wife, Shelia, Joey Fontenot, and Sandra Guillory, and husband, Randy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald J. Fontenot, and his mother, Ethel Lee Fontenot, both of whom played a significant role in shaping the devoted man he became.
The loss of Bart leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His spirit will forever resonate with them.
