HENDERSONVILLE – Barton Woodford "Bart" Hodges, II, 70, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home.
A native of Lorain, OH, Bart moved to Charlotte, NC at the age of 11, and moved to Henderson County in May of 2021. He retired in 2020 from Wells Fargo Bank as a Financial Crimes Investigator. Bart was an avid gun collector and reader, and he also enjoyed gardening, watching old black and white movies, and researching American and European history. He was also an award-winning wine and beer crafter, and a strong supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and his local hospice organizations.
Bart was the son of the late Barton Woodford and Carol Parrish Hodges. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Labe "Bub" and Frances Rhyne, and several close aunts and uncles.
Surviving are his wife, Rene' Rhyne Hodges; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ray Kirby; grandsons, Ryan and Colin Kirby; uncles, John and Joe Parrish; aunt, Marilyn Tripp; three very close friends: Sherry McPhail, Lisa Barnett, and Tim Brady; and his beloved pocket bully, Giada.
A private celebration of Bart's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org, Dreamweaver Farms at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org, or to your favorite charity of choice.
